Salary: £35,201 to £40,002 per annum (Includes Market Premium)

Terms & Conditions: Full Time (37 hours/52 weeks), Teaching Contract

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a forward‑looking and inspirational Head of Rugby to join our team at Cornwall College Camborne. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of rugby and college sport within our dynamic and inclusive community.

The successful candidate will be passionate about sports development and committed to helping student athletes achieve their full potential both on and off the field. They will champion a culture of inclusivity and belonging, embedding the college's values and priorities into every aspect of the Rugby programme.

As Head of Rugby, you will lead the senior Rugby team (1st XV) with expert coaching and tactical guidance, while also coordinating a comprehensive programme of training sessions, fixtures, and enrichment opportunities. You will work closely with the Curriculum Area Manager to help develop an ambitious, innovative Higher Education sports programme, utilising the college's degree‑awarding powers. The role also includes mentoring students, supporting their professional development, and organising sport‑related trips and educational visits.


Skills & Experience

We are looking for a passionate and qualified Rugby coach (minimum Level 2) with strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear commitment to sporting excellence, inclusivity, and the holistic development of student athletes. You will have proven experience in coaching and teaching sport, managing programmes, and fostering community engagement within an educational environment.

You will also hold a relevant teaching qualification (or be willing to achieve one within three years of appointment), an appropriate subject sector qualification, and Level 2 English and maths. Above all, we are seeking someone with honesty, integrity, a strong work ethic, and a personal commitment to continuous learning and team collaboration.
