Description

Who are we?

OCU leads the way in end-to-end infrastructure engineering in the utilities, digital, and energy markets, specialising in safely and efficiently delivering complex client requirements. Our breadth of capabilities and depth of operational capacity, paired with our cutting-edge technology, ensure that we are not just part of the market; we are leading it.

Working directly with many of the country’s leading power, energy transition, water, telecoms and digital clients, we are looking for the very best talent to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all cost and contractual aspects of our projects.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor who has strong technical expertise, financial acumen, and excellent communication skills.

Your role will be essential in ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality while meeting and exceeding client expectations.

We believe growth is earned through delivery—by consistently exceeding expectations, driving innovation, and creating value for our clients. As our new QS, you’ll be at the heart of that mission, leading strategic delivery that fuels our expansion and deepen our impact.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

* Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects based on architectural drawings, specifications, and other relevant information.
* Develop detailed project budgets, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs.
* Monitor project costs throughout the process and identify areas where costs can be optimised.
* Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field.
* Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS/CICES) or working towards chartered status is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
This role isn’t just about cost management —it’s about delivering to grow. You’ll be instrumental in shaping our future, driving delivery, and strengthening our reputation through every successful project.
