For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus for all eligible Registered Nurses with 0-2 years of RN experience and $20,000 for RNs with more than 2 years of RN experience!
* Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a full-time or part-time RN position. Bonus amount is prorated for part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible.

* Waldo County General Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Belfast, Maine. It received the Leapfrog Top Rural Hospital Award in 2020 and is part of the Coastal Healthcare Alliance and MaineHealth system.
The Special Care Unit is a 4-bed critical care unit providing intensive therapies and interventions to adult patients, including care for respiratory failure, ventilator management, sepsis, metabolic disorders, surgical recoveries, and cardiac monitoring.
Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Acute Care role provides high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. The nurse collaborates, delegates, and communicates effectively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
2. Licensure/Certification: Current applicable state license as a Registered Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED, and PACU RNs require ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of start date or as per department guidelines. OB and NICU RNs require NRP certification within one year or as per department guidelines.
3. Experience: One year of recent RN experience preferred.
4. Additional Skills/Requirements: Annual electronic fetal monitoring competency required for RNs assisting with laboring women.
