Based in Swadlincote, the key functions of the Project Engineer is to plan, design, execute and manage individual projects. Ensure all costs are recorded, appropriate to the project design, and that any variations from the original order are recouped from the client by you. Meet client expectations by ensuring prompt replies to queries, implementing comments and meeting site delivery dates. Communicate with the Technical Detailers to ensure correct drawings are produced in accordance with the clients’ project requirements, and that NCR’s are kept to a minimum throughout your multiple projects.
Key Responsibilties:
* Effectively manage and oversee multiple projects with a proactive client focus.
* Ensure the relevant project Detailer/s issue approval drawings to the client to meet expectations and achieve committed delivery dates.
* Ensure the relevant project Detailer/s issue to production drawings are in time and in agreement with the production manager to achieve requested delivery dates and in accordance with meeting the clients’ expectations.
* Ensure the relevant project Detailer/s issue construction drawings prior to delivery of product to site.
* Fixing and product installation guides must be sent with these drawings and that relate to your project specific needs within your attachments.
* Ensure the relevant project Detailer/s provide accurate drawings to minimise NCR’s.
* Maintain information/records required to achieve successful project management.
* Produce Operation and Maintenance Manuals in partnership with the project Detailer and as requested by Clients.
* Actively monitor and amend Product Delivery Dates to suit Client Programme.
* Quantify, Order and Control Brick Requirements for all projects avoiding delays or discrepancies from your client.
* Ensure you hold regular client meetings to review project progress and overcome difficulties.
* Ensure all variations affecting costs are advised to the client, then quoted and claimed.
* Update the future orders project database daily to ensure all figures reported are accurate and that you prioritise your workload accordingly. An accurate six week forecast is imperative to allow for production planning, although the aim should be for an accurate six month forecast.
* Control carriage charges for all projects by recording and recovering previously unforeseen additional costs from the client.
* Produce reports and presentations as required for projects, detailing variations between invoices and quote value.
* Manage projects in a manner which prevents customers from making claims for delays on site.
