Provision of an effective maintenance service to all plant/equipment used within the packing areas, with emphasis on improving plant availability & reliability.
Shift: 3 Shift Rotation
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Meet or exceed all Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental targets.
* Carry out plant isolations.
* Maintain responsibility for all mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems within the Process, Packing, Utilities, and Jetty sections.
* Perform reactive maintenance based on plant priorities.
* Follow maintenance plans and schedules.
* Plan, schedule, and agree on daily/weekly workload with the Area Maintenance Leader, including Preventative, Predictive, and improvement activities.
* Coordinate plant insurance inspections with the insurance inspector.
* Complete plant improvement projects as time permits.
* Supervise maintenance activities, optimizing on-site resources and contractors for repairs, servicing, and projects.
* Liaise with contractors, managing RAMS and PTW processes.
* Supervise cleaning resources to maintain plant hygiene.
* Manage SAP maintenance system for budgeting, trend analysis, reliability, and inventory management.
* Provide HT coverage for the site as necessary, following proper training and assessment.
* Conduct detailed RCA on component failures and implement modifications to improve reliability and performance.
* Estimate costs for improvement projects and prepare capital requests.
* Participate in capital project stages from planning to commissioning, including inspections and installation.
* Meet with suppliers, conduct audits, and visit suppliers’ premises when needed.
* Mentor, train, and advise staff on engineering practices and maintenance issues.
* Measure plant reliability through uptime, OEE, and lost opportunity.
* Achieve performance against job-specific KPIs.
* Maintain self-motivation and pursue continual personal development.
* Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Demonstrate problem-solving skills and provide long-term solutions.
* Be multi-skilled across various engineering trades.
* Have knowledge of health, safety, and environmental systems and procedures.
* Plan and organize engineering tasks, often involving contractor resources.
ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES
* Experience in maintenance within an automated continuous process environment, including PLC and/or HT systems.
* Experience with Predictive/Preventative maintenance techniques and regimes.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
* Preferably an HNC/NVQ 4 in an engineering discipline, or at least BTEC/ONC in a relevant discipline.
