Hours of employment: 08:00-16:30 Monday to Thursday, 08:00-14:00 Friday. Occasional weekend work and overtime will be required on occasion. Responsibilities
* Develop detailed specifications for marine engineering systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
* Collaborate with engineers and project managers to translate complex technical requirements into clear, concise documentation. Candidates must be willing to visit Marine vessels either in port or whilst on voyage - meeting with ships officers or fleet engineers to clarify and assess work packages/contracts.
* Conduct thorough reviews and updates of existing specifications to maintain relevance and precision.
* Participate in design reviews and provide input on electrical design aspects to enhance project outcomes.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in specification writing within the marine engineering sector.
* Strong background in electrical design, with the ability to interpret and create detailed schematics and diagrams. AutoCAD Electrical software knowledge would be beneficial.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
* Proficiency in relevant software tools and a solid understanding of industry standards and regulations.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also managing individual responsibilities effectively.
