Read more about our story at: www.iplglobal.com The role As Lead Setter, you will play a vital role in optimising production processes and ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. You will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of the manufacturing processes associated with plastic production. You will be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting machinery, adjusting parameters, and performing routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance, quality and machine safety. In addition to technical skills, we are looking for an individual who is proactive, open to continuous learning, and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate closely with other functional departments to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions. You will have a keen interest in process optimisation and have a solid background in plastics manufacturing. As a Lead Setter at IPL you will: • Monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure consistent product quality. • Conduct quality checks on raw materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met. • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimise processes and increase efficiency. • Document process changes, maintenance activities, and production data accurately. • Train and mentor new team members on operational procedures and best practices. • Set up and start moulding machines, auxiliary equipment, and related processes. • Perform mould changes and machine setups according to production schedules. • Troubleshoot and resolve process issues, including part defects and machine malfunctions. • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of moulds and equipment. • Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to implement process improvements. • Maintain accurate production and process documentation. • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. • Train and support junior setters on proper moulding techniques and procedures. • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices. • Adherence to plant safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures. What you will bring to the role: • Minimum level 3 industry recognised qualification in polymer processing. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in injection moulding operations. • Strong knowledge of injection moulding machines and equipment. • Familiarity with various plastic resins and their processing characteristics. • Experience with extrusion blow moulding advantageous. • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. • Knowledge of mould setup and maintenance procedures.
