Purpose of Role
Vinci Facilities is seeking a Finance Assistant to join our team supporting our Defence contract at RAF Northolt. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a busy, high-volume finance environment, supporting financial operations across a key business unit.
Job Description
Reporting to the Business Unit Financial Controller (BUFC) and working closely with the finance manager, commercial, and operational teams, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring financial processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Support weekly project costing processes, including:
Following up on timesheet input and approvals
Ensuring completeness and accuracy
Assist the BUFC with:
Regular journal postings
Reconciliations, particularly relating to:
Weekly temporary workforce costs
Monthly fleet and plant costs
Ensure visibility of invoices awaiting approval and assist with preparation for twice-monthly payment runs
Support the finance manager in:
Preparing detailed client invoices using the client billing system
Replicating billing details within the ERP system (Connect)
Assist with:
Cash matching
Reconciliation of client remittances
Provide administrative finance support across the business unit, including:
Supporting commercial and operational teams to resolve invoice and subcontractor queries efficiently
Running weekly and monthly financial reports
Support month-end processes, including:
Standard journal entries
Reconciliations
Reporting
Essential Qualifications/Skills
Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Good Excel and systems skills (experience with ERP systems is advantageous)
Strong communication skills to liaise across finance, operational, and commercial teams
