Job Description Security Solutions Architect - Electronic Security Systems Design Location: Home-Based Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £54,000.00 basic plus a £6k car allowance. They're looking for a Security Solutions Architect to design innovative, commercially compelling security system architectures that meet customer requirements and industry standards. Position Overview As Security Solutions Architect, you'll define the technical direction for security system designs, translating customer needs into robust, cost-effective solutions. You'll take ownership of the entire design process – from initial site surveys through to tender submission – working collaboratively across sales, procurement and engineering teams. Your designs will protect critical infrastructure and public spaces, making a tangible difference to security outcomes whilst building long-lasting customer relationships based on trust and expertise. Responsibilities Design comprehensive electronic security system architectures including CCTV, access control, intruder detection and integrated security management systems Conduct site visits and technical surveys to understand customer requirements and site-specific constraints Prepare commercially compelling design proposals and technical specifications compliant with customer briefs and industry standards Develop technical drawings, system specifications and solution summaries for subcontractors and suppliers Perform design checks and quality assurance to ensure solutions meet technical and commercial requirements Collaborate with procurement to obtain competitive costings and identify preferred technology solutions Provide technical support for tender submissions and liaise with customers on technical queries Evaluate and mitigate cyber security vulnerabilities within proposed security architectures Create clear, accessible technical documentation that translates complex information for diverse stakeholders Requirements Essential Technical Knowledge: Extensive experience designing electronic security systems for complex, high-security projects Detailed understanding of CCTV systems (analogue and IP), access control, intruder detection and video analytics Strong knowledge of integrated security management systems (PSIM) and wireless transmission technologies Solid grasp of digital communication infrastructure including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, wireless and LAN networking Understanding of IT infrastructure including hardware, software, data centres and storage facilities Knowledge of virtualisation systems (VMWare, Hyper-V, HA) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud) Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, SQL and Certificate Authority systems General understanding of electrical installations and civil works for security infrastructure Essential Software and Tools: Proficiency with design and visualisation software (Visio, JVSG or equivalent) Competence with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for documentation and proposals Ability to quickly learn new design and technical software Essential Personal Qualities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly Strong customer-facing skills and commercial awareness Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Self-motivated, driven and eager to learn about emerging security technology trends Flexible, positive can-do attitude with ability to work effectively under pressure Team player who collaborates well across departments and with external partners Desirable: Understanding of UK security industry products, suppliers and market dynamics Knowledge of AI as a service and predictive analytics applications in security Company Overview This leading independent security systems integrator has built a reputation over 40 years for delivering innovative, reliable security solutions across the UK and Ireland.
