HR practitioner with responsibility to advise and make decisions in relation to complex situations and issues, whilst providing a Human
Resource service to localities/clinical directorates and corporate departments of large mixed working groups e.g. nursing, administrative
and management.
• Ensure that the Directorates adopt HR practice which is consistent with best practice, Health Board policies and procedures and
current legislation.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the Health Board Workforce strategy.
• Lead and contribute to the development and implementation of an effective operational HR service across locality/directorates.
• Attend locality/directorate meetings where necessary, ensuring that managers consider the HR implications of service developments
and organisational change

Main duties of the job

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to address complex and sensitive issues with staff at all levels. You will need to display tenacity and resilience and possess the ability to inspire confidence in the managers you support. You must be able to evidence 'hands on' experience within a HR setting operating in a complex and challenging employment environment.

Ideally you will have a good working knowledge of the NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions of service. We are looking for someone with a high quality grounding in the management of sickness absence, disciplinary processes, grievance, capability and dignity at work issues. Experience of managing change and advising on the implications of change is a must.

Essential criteria

1. Specialist HR knowledge through a professional HR Qualification (CIPD) or equivalent experience
2. Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience Evidence of continuing professional development

3. Extensive previous HR experience including the provision of highly complex advice and support to staff and management e.g. sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance

Desirable criteria

4. Knowledge of DBS and work permit requirements
