Overview
City has an exciting opportunity to join our five-year Finance Graduate Apprentice Programme which will allow you to develop your academic skills alongside practical and professional skills.
You will benefit from on-the-job experience whilst studying towards a fully funded Master of Accountancy qualification at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU).
Approximately 80% of your time will be spent in the workplace as you support a wide range of finance activities that enhance your learning.
The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) degree is delivered through a combination of online and in-person learning and is designed to develop both academic and professional finance skills and includes ACCA exam preparation.

What will the apprenticeship involve?
You’ll have the opportunity to experience a wide range of tasks, including financial and management reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. In addition, you will gain invaluable experience across our finance team including cash management, bank, invoicing, finance administration, and expenses.
With over 30 colleagues in our finance team, you will be exposed to a wealth of knowledge and find a network of great colleagues committed to supporting you on your journey to becoming a finance professional.
To supplement your learning, you will also gain exposure and experience working alongside our Internal Audit and Group Finance teams, as well as collaborating with key internal stakeholders within our operational teams.
You will have a dedicated workplace mentor to support you throughout your journey. Your mentor will co-ordinate and review your programme to ensure that you maximise your potential and develop your academic and professional finance skills.
This is a five-year integrated degree programme with no tuition fees.
By choosing the accelerated path to chartered accountancy, you can embark on a streamlined and efficient journey towards qualification as a chartered accountant. This path compresses the time frame needed to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills from 7 to just 5 years, expediting your entry into the workforce and enables you to kick-start your accountancy career earlier than your peers who pursue traditional routes.
