Team Leadership: Support and develop junior staff assigned to you, acting as a line manager and mentor. Key Duties and Responsibilities Project Delivery & Execution Lead the delivery of significant/complex projects against agreed timeframes and budgets. Own the project from handover through to final commissioning and closeout. Act as the key contact for internal and external stakeholders, including clients and third parties. Define, manage, and monitor project schedules, identifying critical path activities and ensuring QA/QC elements are included. Ensure all company policies (HSEQ) and ISO 18001/9001/14001 standards are followed. Manage project risks (commercial, contractual, technical, and schedule) and escalate as necessary. Conduct and lead Project Kick-Off Meetings and participate in design reviews. Lead HAZID/HAZOP sessions where necessary. Leadership & Line Management Act as Duty Manager as part of the rota and provide holiday cover for Business Unit Leaders. Act as a mentor to Project Engineers and Graduate Engineers. Undertake line management responsibilities as required. Stakeholder & Commercial Engagement Act as the focal point for clients, ensuring all technical and commercial aspects of projects are well managed. Support Sales in preparing bids and quotations, addressing technical, operational, and commercial aspects. Own procurement activities—raise purchase requisitions and ensure timely ordering of materials/services. Present project updates and progress reviews to the Board and Directors. Other Responsibilities Monitor project cash flow and ensure invoicing aligns with project progress and forecasts. Manage engineering and construction contracts, mitigating commercial and technical risks. Maintain supplier relationships and expedite issues affecting delivery timelines. Approve Purchase Orders, Invoices, technical documents, reports, and drawings as required. Assist with client visits and technical presentations. Support Sales and Operations with technical advice when required. Ensure all deliverables meet project specifications and follow gate approvals (SIT, FAT, mobilisation). General Activity Comply with all statutory Health & Safety regulations. Follow all internal company policies and procedures (HR, HSEQ, etc.). Person Specification Qualifications Essential: City & Guilds / NVQ qualification in a relevant Engineering, Mechanical, or Electrical discipline (may be waived for proven experience) HND / HNC in Engineering 2:2 or above degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural), Mathematics, or Physics Experience Essential: 5 years’ experience in a similar engineering/project role with a track record of success Experience acting as a team leader or supervising others Demonstrated success in client-facing project delivery Experience in financial forecasting within a project environment Leading and contributing to technical and commercial meetings Skills Essential: Strong IT proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) Confident in problem-solving and decision-making in technical environments Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and professionally Personal Attributes Essential: Highly self-motivated and results-driven Confident with the ability to professionally challenge and influence others Works effectively both independently and within teams Organised, detail-focused, and able to prioritise under pressure Resilient and persistent in the face of challenges
