Key responsibilities include:* **Winning and growing business:** Identify, nurture, and convert new opportunities while developing strong account plans for existing clients.* **Supporting customers on their Net Zero journey:** Act as a subject matter expert, advising clients on the best solutions and helping them access funding opportunities.* **Building a strong sales pipeline:** Manage opportunities using Salesforce, ensuring deals progress through the sales plan smoothly.* **Using market insight:** Understand competitor propositions, customer needs, and industry trends to shape winning strategies.* **Collaborating with internal teams:** Work closely with commercial, bid, marketing, operational and grid services/DSR teams to position our propositions and deliver excellent customer outcomes.* **Championing the British Gas Zero brand:** Represent us at events, contribute to marketing initiatives, and support the growth of our renewables capability.## ## **What you’ll bring*** Strong Business Development experience and the ability to build and manage key client relationships.* Commercial awareness across energy products and services, with knowledge of Solar, Battery Storage, Hive products and Air Source Heat Pumps.* Experience managing third‐party relationships and navigating complex sales cycles.* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills—comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders internally and externally.* Understanding of pricing, margin management, sales processes, industry obligations, and go‐to‐market models.* Ability to collaborate across multiple teams, influence stakeholders, and represent British Gas across the wider Centrica group.* A customer‐centric mindset with a strong ability to understand commercial value and customer needs.* Willingness to travel for customer & team meetings**Why should you apply?** We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place.
