What you’ll be responsible for
You will be an integral member of the corporate finance team responsible for ensuring compliance with key controls and providing cover for other roles during absences to keep financial records updated.
This includes:
1. Administration of procurement cards to ensure policy compliance and correct expenditure reporting, working closely with procurement.
2. Supporting the Controls Manager in implementing and maintaining a good control environment, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, taking minutes, and following up on actions, as well as collating Finance KPIs.
3. Conducting substantive audit checks on finance controls for compliance.
4. Providing cover for income analyst and admin assistant roles, including posting income journals, bank and intercompany transactions, raising purchase orders, settling invoices, and completing bank reconciliations.
5. Updating process notes to ensure documentation is current.
6. Supporting year-end activities, including updating documentation, responding to audit queries, and scheduling regulatory meetings.
7. Collaborating with internal teams to document operational processes, reviewing and updating documentation as needed.
8. Assessing Infrastructure Renewal Expenditure (IRE) for capital and operational categorization in line with IFRS principles.
9. Monitoring project scope changes, updating DG codes, and reviewing projects for variances and discrepancies.
10. Analyzing project actuals, forecasts, and budgets, and engaging with stakeholders to explain variances.
11. Assessing new projects for alignment with green bond principles and proper categorization.
12. Providing half-yearly Adopted Asset information using the latest UCD rates.
13. Coordinating and updating annual absorption rate calculations.
14. Providing ad hoc support to team members as needed.
Who you'll work with
Internal: Controls Manager, Director of Finance, Corporate Finance team, Business Unit Financial Controllers and Management Accountants, Tax department, Procurement department, Capital delivery and Asset strategy team.
About you
* Over 3 years’ experience in finance.
* Experience in accounts/bookkeeping roles.
* Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems (Oracle).
* High accuracy and attention to detail.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient in Word and Excel, capable of multitasking.
* Critical thinking, initiative, effective communication, resilience, ownership, reliability, and teamwork skills.
