The Harris Primary Academy Shortlands has been open since 2015 and is Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' in all areas. We have 14 classes from Reception to Year 6 (2-form entry). Main Areas of Responsibility
* Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Leadership and Management of Premises Team
o Responsible for all people management aspects of a team of Premises Officers / the Premises Officer, in liaison with the Resources Manager; including recruitment, performance management, training – including acquisition of skill levels regarding minor maintenance work.
o Schedule, prioritise and supervise the work of the premises staff, and any other members of staff employed, within their area of responsibility.
* Building Maintenance
o To supervise premises staff, to ensure that their work is directed to maximise 'value for money' and high levels of productivity.
o To supervise all work by outside agencies and contractors on the premises and grounds, their services, fittings and equipment, to ensure quality control, and to raise any inefficiency or ineffectiveness with the Principal/Estates Manager.
o To build/refurbish areas of the academy as required by the academy leadership team.
o To ensure academy vehicles are maintained, serviced, cleaned and safe for use.
o To ensure premises staff and contracted cleaners maintain exemplary levels of cleanliness and hygiene across the site.
o To provide technical and craft support to teaching staff within the capability of staff at their disposal.
o To regularly inspect internal and external fabric of the buildings, initiating repairs and prioritising necessary works. Major defects or development plans to be discussed with the Resources Manager and the Principal.
o To liaise with Estates Manager/Resources Manager/Principal on all security matters during the academy day and out of hours.
o To complete all tasks within their area of responsibility as reasonably requested by Estates Manager, Resources Manager or Principal.
o To maintain, decorate and repair the academy premises within capability of the premises team.
o To supervise oversight of deliveries to the site and ensure stock/items are promptly dealt with.
o To oversee production and delivery of a planned programme of maintenance and repair, including procuring contracts as required with specialist companies, with direction from the Principal/Resources Manager/Estates Manager.

Qualifications & Experience
We would like to hear from you if you have:
* Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
* Knowledge and training of relevant Health and Safety legislation and requirements
* Sound training in one or more of the following; plumbing, general and ground maintenance, electrical/building maintenance, heating systems (or sound experience of same).
* Knowledge of the operation of heating, ventilating systems and common causes of malfunctions
* Knowledge of maintenance and security systems and procedures
* Knowledge of procurement procedures for service level agreements
* Knowledge of supervisory skills
* Understanding of appropriate cleaning methods and standards
