Job Title: Cover Supervisor Location: Middlesbrough Salary: £100 – £120 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time Do you have the ability to lead a classroom and encourage students to stay focused and engaged with their learning? GSL Education are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in schools across Middlesbrough. This exciting opportunity involves supervising classes during teacher absences and ensuring students continue their learning in a calm and productive environment. The successful candidate will support students with pre-planned work while maintaining positive behaviour and classroom expectations. Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor: Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher Ensure students remain engaged with pre-set learning activities Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies Support students with questions and classroom tasks where appropriate Maintain a positive and respectful learning environment Report back to teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour Follow safeguarding and school procedures at all times Work collaboratively with school staff and support teams Requirements of a Cover Supervisor: Previous experience working with young people is desirable Strong communication and organisational skills Confident and adaptable approach to classroom management Ability to motivate and engage students effectively Degree or school-based experience is advantageous Passion for education and supporting student development An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.
