Job Description Despatch – Customs Clearance Clerk Location: Wellingborough NN8 (In-person) Contract Type: Temp-to-Perm Salary: £12.65 per hour (£26,312 per annum) Working Hours: 6AM to 3PM with 1 hour lunch break About the Role: We ’ re seeking an enthusiastic and detail-focused individual to join our client ’ s growing logistics and compliance team. In this pivotal role, you ’ ll be responsible for the timely clearance of import cargo arriving at our warehouse in Wellingborough. Your goal will be to ensure goods are processed efficiently and delivered to our clients without delay, while maintaining clear communication with internal departments and external stakeholders. As the company continues to expand, this position plays a vital part in sustaining customer satisfaction and supporting long-term growth. In time, the role will also develop to include basic bookkeeping duties, offering further scope for professional development. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee import clearances, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations Coordinate container and truck bookings via RoRo services Maintain daily communication with clients to provide shipment updates and resolve issues Input data into NCTS and GVMS systems accurately Maintain internal records using WMS platforms and Excel spreadsheets Support the team with general operational tasks and reporting Learn and assist with basic bookkeeping functions (future responsibility) Candidate Profile: A positive and driven individual with a strong desire to learn and grow within the logistics and compliance sector High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Ideally one year of industry experience, although full training will be provided for the right candidate Flexible and adaptable with a can-do attitude Knowledge of Mandarin is a plus (not essential) Benefits: Opportunity for long-term career progression Supportive and collaborative team environment If this sounds like a job for you, give us a call on 01604 704058 or email alinah@acsstaffingsolutions.co.uk
