Job description
Leading engineering contractor who operates in the energy, highways, and rail sectors, is currently seeking a Senior Planner to join their team in the Midlands.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual with significant experience working with tier 1 or tier 2 contractors. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of various infrastructure projects and has the potential to develop into a Planning Manager position as new contracts are awarded.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparing cost and resource loaded programmes covering the complete scope of works as per contract
2. Creating and maintaining a robust, logically linked, cost and resource loaded programme
3. Maintaining client expectations from a programme point of view
4. Ensuring the team provides comprehensive programme updates and reviewing work before submission
5. Updating project programmes on a weekly basis where applicable
6. Preparing and submitting weekly site progress photo reports where applicable
7. Carrying out regular programme reviews and ensuring contractual obligations are met
8. Conducting impact assessments and presenting delay programmes, cause and effect programmes
Job Requirements:
9. Experience in project planning within the energy, highways, or rail sectors
10. Proficiency in preparing cost and resource loaded programmes
11. Strong understanding of maintaining client expectations and communicating effectively
12. Ability to carry out delay analysis and forensic planning
13. Familiarity with issuing earned value analysis, SPI, CPIs, and implementing robust project controls
14. Experience in supporting and leading planning initiatives
15. Excellent communication skills to collate and present programme information at all levels
16. Ability to resolve cross-functional issues at the planning level
