The Role
Gilmore College is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and experienced educational leader to coordinate and further develop our award-winning programs in:
1. Vocational Education and Training (VET)
2. Careers and Pathway Planning
3. Workplace Learning (WPL)
4. Post-school Transition
5. Management of the Peron Trade Training Centre for Excellence
As Program Coordinator, you will play a key strategic leadership role in ensuring students have access to quality, future-focused learning and training opportunities. You will work collaboratively with internal staff, external stakeholders, and training providers to lead programs that are responsive to student interests and aligned with local and state industry needs.
You will oversee the joint management of the Peron Trade Training Centre for Excellence in collaboration with South Metropolitan TAFE, ensuring high-quality, industry-aligned training programs are delivered to both Gilmore College students and students from neighbouring schools in the region. This includes coordinating timetables, facilities use, and student access; supporting TAFE lecturers on-site; monitoring student engagement and achievement; and ensuring all programs align with both school curriculum requirements and the standards set by training authorities and industry bodies. The role also involves fostering strong operational and strategic relationships with SM TAFE and other Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), actively promoting the Centre as a hub for excellence in vocational education across the Kwinana and Rockingham region.
Key Responsibilities
6. Lead and manage all aspects of the College’s VET, Careers, WPL, and post-school transition programs.
7. Drive innovation and quality improvement through regular review and analysis of student outcomes and program effectiveness.
8. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with external providers including industry, TAFEs, RTOs, and community organisations.
9. Oversee the joint management of the Peron Trade Training Centre with South Metropolitan TAFE, ensuring program delivery for both Gilmore students and those from the wider area.
10. Provide expert advice and support to students, staff, and families regarding VET and post-school options.
11. Promote VET and related programs across the school and broader community.
12. Manage VET-related data, including SCSA and Senior School reporting requirements, using system data management tools to inform planning and reporting.
13. Identify and apply for funding, grants, and other opportunities to expand program offerings and student access.
Desirable Skills and Experience
14. Demonstrated leadership experience in VET, senior secondary schooling, careers or transition pathways.
15. High-level understanding of VET curriculum, policy, accreditation and reporting requirements.
16. Proven ability to foster effective partnerships with stakeholders, including TAFEs, industry bodies, and community organisations.
17. Strong data literacy and experience using educational data to inform program development and reporting.
18. Demonstrated experience in identifying and securing external funding opportunities.
19. Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
