Are you an organised, motivated administrator with a passion for supporting children and young people's mental health services? We are looking for a Clinical Administrator to provide dedicated access to work support for the Team Manager of the CAMHS West team.
This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the operational side of a dynamic and supportive Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, contributing to the coordination and improvement of service delivery. You will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day functions of the team while gaining broad exposure to professionals and services across management levels.

Main duties of the job
* Provide dedicated administrative support to the Team Manager, including diary management, email correspondence, minute taking, and meeting coordination.
* Review referrals, track and monitor outcomes, and support improvements in service processes.
* Maintain and update the Electronic Patient Record system (RiO), ensuring accurate recording of referrals, appointments, and clinical data.
* Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation (often of a confidential and sensitive nature).
* Act as a point of liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders including education, social care, voluntary sector organisations, and health professionals.
* Assist with administrative tasks related to staff and service management and access to work arrangements.
* Support the planning and coordination of meetings and clinical activity.
* Manage, prioritise and adapt workload in response to service needs and clinical urgency.

Job responsibilities
In this Band 4 role, you will work closely with the CAMHS West Team Manager and support the effective coordination of mental health services for children, young people, and their families. You will play a hands-on role in administrative and operational tasks that ensure the team functions smoothly, from managing clinical data to helping implement changes to service pathways.
Your day-to-day will include supporting the Team Manager with administrative duties that directly impact the service's delivery — reviewing referrals, maintaining key performance indicators, and communicating with other services at a senior level. You'll gain experience working across NHS systems and interacting with a range of professionals from health, education, and social care sectors.
This is a position requiring excellent organisation, discretion, and communication skills, as well as a proactive approach to learning and adapting within a busy clinical environment. You should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, with a strong focus on supporting patient care through administrative excellence.

Qualifications
* Essential: NVQ 2 in Business administration or Health and Social Care or equivalent experience.
* Desirable: NVQ 3 in Business Administration.
Experience
* Essential: Experience of working within NHS mental health services.
* Desirable: Experience of work with people with severe mental health problems. Experience of working in a mental health setting.
Additional Criteria
* Essential: Evidence of a good standard of Literacy / English language skills. Knowledge and skills in working with people with dyslexia. Good written and verbal communication skills. Engagement skills and the ability to make empathic relationships with people with severe mental health problems.
* Desirable: Car driver with a valid driving licence or have access to transport to travel within the West Somerset area if required.
