Job Description:
We are recruiting for an Environment Health & Safety Controller for a leading Aerospace organisation based on site in Broughton.
We are currently looking for an Environment, Health & Safety Controller to be based within the Facilities Management and Real Estate team at Broughton, North Wales.
As an EHS Controller, you will support and enable the business to create an inclusive, value-driven, and engaging working environment with the highest safety standards.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Support the local FMRE team to ensure appropriate risk controls are in place for their activities and that of our service providers.
2. Ensure compliance with requirements relating to the introduction of new plant and work equipment and ongoing maintenance of that equipment.
3. Review the safety management systems of prospective FMRE contractors through the pre-qualification process.
4. Conduct EHS related inspections on internal operations and activities carried out by service providers, and support in collating formal records and action plans.
5. Provide competent environment, health, and safety advice for a wide range of strategic projects, through feasibility and design reviews.
6. Implement processes and complete compliance audits to ensure processes comply with relevant legal requirements, including (but not limited to) CDM Regulations 2015 and Building Safety Act.
7. Ensure work-related incidents (from near miss to lost time injury, and environmental incidents) are reported, investigated effectively, and remedial actions are implemented.
8. Possess a good knowledge of EHS requirements related to Facilities Management (including construction and maintenance) processes, national laws, and regulations relating to the workplace; provide directions to operational management and local safety support teams.
9. Promote Environment and Health & Safety topics throughout the organisation at all levels, including safety reviews, reporting KPIs, training, awareness campaigns, and EHS inductions.
Experience and Qualifications:
1. NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent (minimum).
2. Experience in reporting to and working with stakeholders to implement safety projects in a dynamic environment.
3. Experience with formal risk assessment and auditing techniques.
4. Relevant experience in Facilities Management, including construction and maintenance.
5. A team player who can also work autonomously with a positive attitude, adhering to company behaviors.
6. Understanding of health and safety standards' pragmatic and practical application.
7. Proactive towards professional development, membership of bodies like IOSH (desired).
This is an umbrella contract, role inside IR35.
