As the Environmental Technical Lead, you will focus on business development and client acquisition within the UK Oil & Gas sector.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new Environmental Team, contributing to its growth and development. We seek an experienced Oil and Gas Technical Lead ready to advance their career. The role involves client engagement, project delivery, technical leadership, and team management. A background in UK Oil & Gas environmental support and a desire to lead technically are essential. Reporting to the Market Director Environment, support and guidance will be provided in leadership, business development, and technical aspects.
Skills and Responsibilities
1. Overall technical leadership for environmental support in UK Oil & Gas projects.
2. Lead project delivery ensuring quality standards are met.
3. Develop business across Oil & Gas projects, building a trusted client portfolio.
4. Prepare environmental and sustainability consultancy scopes.
5. Provide strategic environmental advice to clients.
6. Create, review, and approve technical reports.
7. Lead and mentor junior specialists.
8. Prepare cost estimates and bids.
9. Manage projects to meet scope, budget, and schedule.
10. Engage with clients and develop relationships.
11. Recruit new team members to support growth.
Qualifications and Experience
* Extensive experience in environmental and sustainability services.
* Relevant degree(s).
* Chartered status (e.g., CEnv).
* Experience in UK Energy, especially Oil & Gas.
* Existing client network and industry contacts.
* Proven ability to lead work scopes within delivery and cost targets.
* Knowledge of legislation and standards.
* High-standard technical report writing and review skills.
* Client-facing experience with commercial awareness.
* Successful bid and proposal experience.
* Proactive in business growth opportunities.
Communication Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Comfortable explaining environmental requirements to senior management.
* Conference presentation skills (support available).
* Strong client engagement and influencing skills.
* Bid writing expertise.
* Leadership in team communication and messaging.
