Job Description
Global manufacturing engineering business requires a Buyer. Applicants can have background in either direct or indirect procurement, and be comfortable in a role that blends both strategic and operational duties.\n\nThe Buyer will join a supportive team of Buyers and Senior Buyers reporting to a Procurement Manager. The Buyer will be responsible for ensuring optimal material flow (of direct products/services for manufacturing), supplier performance and operational efficiency.\n\nSpecific duties of the Buyer include:\n\nLead internal and supplier meetings as required.\nRaise and issue purchase orders based on MRP demand.\nEnsure suppliers receive the most current documentation including drawings, T&Cs, and pricing.\nProvide demand forecasts to suppliers and confirm capacity/material availability.\nMaintain part availability and material flow; expedite orders when needed.\nMonitor and report key supplier performance indicators (KPIs).\nMaintain accurate MRP/ERP master data (e.g.
lead times, MOQs).\nBuild and maintain strong supplier relationships through clear and open communication.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with logistics, planning, engineering, and SQA teams.\nManage supplier account setup and updates.\nSupport indirect purchasing needs across the business.\nOversee subcontract materials to ensure efficient movement aligned to MRP. \n\nBuyer applicants should meet the following criteria:\n\nProcurement experience as a Buyer, Senior Buyer or Junior Buyer focusing on direct or indirect spend\nAbility to collaborate with suppliers - manage performance, negotiate, recovery plans etc.\nStrong understanding of MRP/ERP systems, especially purchasing and planning.\nAnalytical with excellent problem-solving skills.\nResilient, process-driven, and detail-oriented
