The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Accountant to support our operational objectives and deliver high-quality, cost-effective services within our Finance team. Working closely with our Finance Manager, you will implement best-in-class processes and promote continuous improvement in our control environment.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, based two days a week in our Swindon office.

Your responsibilities will include:
1. Monitoring cash position, completing daily cash reconciliations, and posting monthly to the GL
2. Completing month-end processes including journals, analysis, and reconciliations
3. Performing Platform Cash Control reconciliations and liaising with Payment Services regarding queries
4. Reconciling and analyzing balance sheet accounts regularly, investigating and resolving queries promptly
5. Owning fixed asset accounting and the annual verification process
6. Reconciling and posting intercompany and intra-group transactions, and preparing supporting documentation
7. Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
8. Facilitating internal and external audit requirements
9. Responding to queries and issues professionally and promptly
10. Maintaining sections of the Finance Function Manual and Operating Procedures
11. Completing ONS returns
12. Supporting ad hoc requests to aid study and development
What you will need to succeed:
* Part-qualified or studying accountant, or qualified by experience
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is advantageous
* Experience in a financial accounting role within a large organization is preferable
* Ability to meet deadlines and focus on tasks
* Experience with cash reconciliation is useful
* Understanding of accounting principles in a business environment
* Professional, enthusiastic, and positive attitude
* Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
* Strong Excel skills for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting
* Effective time management skills; able to prioritize, resource, and plan workload; proactive when appropriate
* Understanding of high standards in Finance
