Responsibilities
* Work across all areas of Imaging, including CT, MRI, General Ultrasound and Maternity Ultrasound.
* Prepare patients for scans and maintain a safe environment.
* Assist and support patient care and, when required, chaperone sonographers during growth scans and gynecology assessments.
* Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure patients have an excellent experience in Imaging.
* Attend regular team meetings.
* Assist where necessary with clinical procedures under the supervision of Registered Nurses.
* Monitor, record and report changes in patients’ condition as directed by Registered Nurses.
* Acquire knowledge and skills to complete relevant documentation, e.g. care given and recording of observations.
* Implement the Trust’s infection control policy preventing cross‑infection.
* Maintain an up‑to‑date working knowledge of Trust/local policies and procedures.
* Undertake stock rotation and deep cleaning within the department.
* Demonstrate a professional approach to teaching junior staff.
* Demonstrate positive and effective communication with patients, colleagues, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
* Ensure safety and comfort of patients before, during and after all procedures/scans, specifically paying attention to oxygen requirements.
* Good IT skills.
* Raise clinical incident reports as and when necessary.
* Report faulty equipment to the nurse/radiographer/sonographer in charge.
Qualifications
* Care Certificate training is available.
* Good IT skills.
