About the role
We’re recruiting Site Assistants for local primary/secondary schools. You’ll help keep the site safe, clean and operational: opening/locking up, basic maintenance, health & safety checks, room setups and supporting lettings/events. This is hands-on, varied work where reliability and initiative really matter.
What you’ll be doing
* Open/lock the site; respond to alarms and call-outs; support evening/weekend lettings.
* Complete daily/weekly compliance checks (fire alarms, emergency lighting, H&S walkarounds); keep tidy records.
* Carry out minor repairs/maintenance (bulbs, basic plumbing/DIY/furniture fixes); oversee contractors on site.
* Porterage & room setups for lessons, meetings, exams and events.
* Grounds care: litter picks, bins, leaf/snow/ice clearance; safe gritting when needed.
* Support cleaning standards and escalate issues; keep plant rooms and stores organised.
* Assist with deliveries, meter readings and school vehicles (as trained).
* Be a visible, helpful presence for staff, pupils and visitors.
You’ll need
* Practical maintenance/DIY experience and a can-do attitude.
* Good H&S awareness; able to follow risk assessments and site procedures.
* Strong reliability, time-management and communication.
* Willingness to work some flexible hours (early/late) as needed.
* Right to work in the UK and Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
Nice to have (not essential): school premises background, first aid, MIDAS/minibus, COSHH/Manual Handling, basic IT for logging checks.
Why work with us
* Immediate starts at supportive schools; local placements.
* Temp-to-perm route with fair, transparent rates.
* Weekly pay, 24/7 consultant support, and fast, paper-light onboarding.
* Real scope to learn, upskill and progress on a school estate team.
