Trainee SEN Teacher

You’ll receive full training, hands-on experience, and continuous support as you grow into a confident and skilled educator.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Provide teaching and support to pupils, following individualised curriculums.
* Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and activities, focusing largely on communication skills and life skills.
* Support pupils’ participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice.
* Provide behaviourally based support to replace and reduce behaviours that impact quality of life.
* Provide personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding).
* Monitor pupil progress, ensuring teaching is appropriate and effective for each child’s needs.
* Assist with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Professional, personal, or voluntary experience of working with children and disabilities.
* Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE in English Language & Maths or equivalent.
* Comfortable working with children who exhibit behaviour that challenges.
* Comfortable supporting others with personal/intimate care where required.
* Ability to keep calm in high-pressure situations.

* Masters in High Incidence & Disabilities worth up to £13,000.
* Regular training in Safeguarding, Emergency Medication, Behaviour Management, Personal Care, Autism, and more.
