Job Description
The HGV Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of goods across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The role involves operating heavy goods vehicles in compliance with all road transport legislation, company policies, and customer service standards.
About The Role
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Delivery
* Safely operate an HGV (Class 1 or Class 2 depending on requirement) for multi‑drop or bulk deliveries across NI and ROI.
* Ensure goods are delivered on time and in full to customers, depots, or distribution centres.
* Complete daily delivery routes as scheduled by the Transport Manager.
* Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment (e.g., tail lift, pallet truck) while following manual handling guidelines.
* Carry out cross‑border deliveries in compliance with ROI road regulations and company procedures.
Vehicle Safety & Compliance
* Conduct daily vehicle checks (pre‑use and post‑use) and report defects immediately.
* Maintain the vehicle in a clean, roadworthy condition.
* Comply with all tachograph, driver hours, and Working Time Directive regulations.
* Follow all company health & safety procedures, including safe driving practices and site rules.
Documentation & Communication
* Complete delivery notes, manifests, and any required cross‑border paperwork accurately.
* Use handheld devices or paperwork to record deliveries, collections, and customer signatures.
* Communicate effectively with the Transport Office regarding delays, issues, or route changes.
* Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers and the public.
Operational Duties
* Assist with loading, securing, and checking goods before departure.
* Report any incidents, accidents, or near misses promptly.
* Follow route plans while adapting to traffic, weather, or operational changes.

About The Company
The Fleming Agri factory is based in Newbuildings, North West Northern Ireland. The purpose built factory was established in 1983 on a modest half acre site. Over the years the factory has had several expansion developments including a £1.1m expansion which was completed in 2013. More recently a new 22,000 square feet factory has been opened mid 2020 for the manufacture of larger capacity trailers and vacuum tankers. With the pace of new technology moving so fast, the company embraces a policy of continuous improvement, involving the most up to date design packages, CNC production machinery and processes including robotic welding.

Desired Criteria
* •Experience with cross border deliveries.
* •ADR, HIAB, or forklift certification
* •Experience using handheld delivery devices or transport management systems.
Required Criteria
* •Valid HGV licence (Category C or C+E depending on vehicle).
* •Valid CPC card and Digital Tachograph card.
* •Previous experience in HGV driving, ideally with multi drop or regional delivery work.
* •Good knowledge of road networks across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
* •Strong understanding of driver hours, tachograph rules, and road safety.
* •Ability to handle goods safely and follow manual handling procedures.
