Key Responsibilities May Include:
1. Develop and manage a robust preventive maintenance program to ensure timely and effective maintenance, reducing equipment downtime and improving overall plant efficiency.
2. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, actively enforcing corporate Zero Harm policies and conducting regular safety checks on equipment and building services.
3. Implement process reliability systems and lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving equipment reliability and efficiency targets.
4. Manage the procurement, inventory, and budget control of spare parts and consumables, ensuring effective stock management to support maintenance activities.
5. Lead and support capital expenditure projects related to equipment upgrades, new installations, and plant improvements, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
6. Monitor and optimize the use of utilities such as electricity, gas, and water, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
7. Ensure plant compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards through regular safety audits, equipment testing, and asset management processes.
8. Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, ensuring adequate staffing, training, and performance management to meet the operational needs of the plant.
CHEP is known for its pallets; our plants repair, respray and clean our pallet pool to allow them to be reused. This role will play a key role supporting maintenance of our on-site customer solutions for customers who have high volumes.
You’ll manage your own diary & time and have access to a company van and tools. The job will be to carry out PPM and remedial work at site, coordinating time with the Plants directly and working as part of the wider On-Site-Solutions team.

Key responsibilities
13. Manage planned work requirements and contractors as part of the maintenance intervention activities (preventive or corrective).
14. Identify, report and resolve health and safety concerns with the equipment and building services.
15. Ensure breakdowns of equipment are rectified in a safe and efficient manner.
16. Manage and develop the PPM programme, ensuring that the scheduled work is carried out.
17. Control spares and consumables stocks with high accuracy, avoiding unnecessary inventory.
18. Procurement of Spares and equipment needed ensure continued operations
19. Support the Process Reliability Program for site equipment. Ensure areas of losses are identified and reduced or eliminated.
What you’ll need
20. 18th Edition wiring regulations
21. City and Guilds, apprenticeship
22. Site based or field-based maintenance experience, reactive and proactive.
23. HND, HNC or similar in an engineering-related discipline
24. Well organised and able to manage your own diary
25. Purchasing of spare parts and equipment, Managing the stock and cost.
26. PLC fault finding, PLC or Computer programming knowledge is desirable.
27. Efficient and flexible approach to working, including being available to give advice over the phone and for infrequent call-outs
