Are you an experienced Science Technician with a strong background in supporting science education? We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Science Technician to join our dynamic science department at a secondary school in the Bury area.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Support teachers during practical sessions
Maintain and organise laboratory stock, including the safe storage and disposal of chemicals
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in the laboratory
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
Assist in the development of practical science resources
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school setting
Strong understanding of school science experiments and lab procedures
Confident in handling and maintaining chemicals and lab equipment
A relevant qualification (e.g., degree in a science subject) or significant school-based technician experience
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
A proactive and safety-conscious approach
Desirable:
Knowledge of CLEAPSS guidelines
Experience supporting GCSE or A-Level science
