Deputy Residential Childcare Manager

Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire
Salary: £29,223.48 £35,000.00 per annum (inclusive of sleep-in allowance)
Contract: Full-time (39 hours per week on average)
Sleep-In Allowance: £40 per sleep-in (typically 1 per week)
About the Role P4 is working with an established residential care provider is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join a childrens residential service supporting Children up to 18 with complex speech, language, and communication needs, including autism. Many of the young people also present with additional learning difficulties and associated behaviours that challenge.
The home operates a nurturing, home from home environment where staff actively participate in a wide range of recreational and social activities with the young people, including theatre trips, sports, countryside walks, and more.
Key Responsibilities Assist the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home.
Support, develop, and supervise staff to ensure high standards of care.
Promote the emotional, physical, and educational development of each young person.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and childrens residential care regulations.
Participate fully in the daily life of the home, including activities and household routines.
Candidate Requirements A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar setting.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential.
Strong understanding of autism and experience supporting individuals with complex needs.
A full UK driving licence is required.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Shift Patterns Early: 07:3015:00
Late: 14:3022:00 (with potential for sleep-in)
Full Day: 07:3022:00 (with potential for sleep-in)
Includes some weekend and bank holiday work.
Salary & Benefits Starting salary: £29,223.48
Average salary with sleep-ins: £31,303.48
Top band salary: up to £35,000 per annum based on experience and responsibilities
Annual increments: £750 after each of the first two years in post
