What skills and experience we're looking for
Job role
The successful candidate will share our vision and values and be committed to inclusion, ensuring our staff, pupils, and families meet their potential. The role is suitable for practitioners looking to extend their clinical experience within the field of ASC, SEMH, and associated difficulties. The candidate will work across mainstream and specialist educational settings within the Trust, delivering therapeutic interventions within our Northwest Academies and Inclusion Hubs (Specialist Provisions). They will have the opportunity to influence practice across our Derby Hub through technology and as part of the Inclusion Service Team. The candidate should have at least two years of experience in this field or a related setting, as they will need to work confidently as the only OT within the team.
Opportunities for networking with OTs from local teams will be available. Regular external supervision, both formal and informal, will be provided. CPD opportunities will support skill development, practice enhancement, and information needs.
The Occupational Therapist will play a central role in assessing, delivering programmes, supporting staff training, and preparing evidence-based reports. Our goal is to develop a therapeutic team offering multidisciplinary interventions.
