Job Title: Senior Support Worker
To undertake a lead role in ensuring the care and welfare of each child in placement.
1. Coordinate and attend meetings with schools, social workers, and the local authority.
2. Help oversee a team of support workers, providing guidance and training in various therapeutic techniques and protocols.
3. Write reports for LAC, Placement reviews, and Care plans.
4. Raise concerns with the Registered Manager as appropriate.
5. Deal with challenging behaviour (verbally abusive, possibly threatening behaviour).
6. Maintain positive role modelling at all times and a consistent approach.
7. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop care plans.
8. Administer and document medication.
9. Conduct risk assessments to safeguard children and young people.
10. Build rapport with vulnerable children aged 8 to 17 and their families during supervised contact.
11. Implement positive behaviour support and physical intervention when necessary.
12. Conduct Keywork sessions.
13. Liaise with social workers, families, and healthcare professionals.
14. Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
It is essential that you possess resilience to handle these challenges, work to rebuild trust, and be passionate about making a difference in young lives. You should understand trauma, have good communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work under pressure and as part of a team.
Qualifications and requirements:
* Level 3 in residential childcare or equivalent (required)
* UK Driving license and access to a vehicle (required)
* Right to work in UK without visa restrictions (required)
