An opportunity has arisen for a Connections Pricing and Forecasting Lead to deliver connections pricing and forecasting to support a significant step change in connections performance for National Grid ’ s Electricity Distribution (NGED) business. Reporting to the Head of Connections Pricing and Forecasting, you ’ ll deliver valuable analysis and insight into connection performance. You will also develop and own a connection volume forecasting model and partner with the wider NGED business to ensure alignment on pricing and forecasting methodologies. This will involve analysing past connections performance, maintaining market share info and reporting performance against forecasts. The role holder will also be responsible for making sure connections fees and charges are maintained in line with connections policy as per licensing conditions and working with key stakeholders across the business to enhance our planning capabilities. To be successful, you will have the ambition to play a key role in the UK ’ s shift to net zero carbon, be highly experienced in working with large datasets, managing stakeholders and experienced in driving change. We offer a hybrid and flexible working approach, a mix of working in the office and the rest home working. Our standard working week is 37 hours, though we can also offer some flexibility in terms of hours / times if required. We can offer flexibility on where the role is based across our Electricity Distributions Offices within the Midlands, South West and Wales. You will need to be educated to a degree level as this is essential for the role. Strong academic background with a numerical, analytical or business degree is desirable. Intermediate level of excel experience is essential and prior experience of Pricing ERP system would be beneficial. Evidence of your qualification certificates will be required prior to appointment. Main Responsibilities Building, improving and maintaining forecasting models; and developing forecasting framework and tools. Maintaining and automating forecasting processes, whilst building in checks and alerts. Designing and building forecasting dashboards/ reports that cover operational processes and reporting requirements; Developing and maintaining a connections forecasting model Reporting on connections performance against forecasts and identifying trends in past data Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure forecasting meets wider business requirements Designing and implementing processes for regularly updating all connections-related charges and fees in line with Ofgem guidelines Ensuring all pricing and costs are reflected correctly in systems The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate should be a team player who thrives at the idea of ownership across different projects and tools and passionate about driving towards Net Zero. You should have strong analysis skills and the ability to assess and interpret information as this is crucial to the role. You should have experience working with large datasets and experience in forecasting whilst using a wide array of variables, and be confident working with ambiguity and experience in driving out assumption-based analysis. You should have the ability to adapt to a changing fast-paced working environment and to work through technical issues in a timely manner whilst being able to take ownership and drive forward significant pieces of analytical work. The role holder should have excellent verbal and written communication skills – with the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders and prepare and present high quality reports. A drivers licence is required for this role. National Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding the interests of the Company, colleagues and customers.
