Over the past 20 years, Amazon has reinvented on behalf of customers and has become the largest internet retailer and marketplace in the world. NOC (Network Operation Center) is the central command and control center for Transportation Execution across the Amazon transportation network. It ensures timely pick-up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from Amazon FCs to carrier hubs. In case of any exceptions, NOC resolves issues and keeps all stakeholders informed. NOC also analyzes network data to identify trends and drive process improvements and automation. NOC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Amazon transportation and thereby has a direct impact on Amazon’s ability to serve its customers on time.
Within NOC’s umbrella, there is a specific arm that manages inbound scheduling, missing-from-inbound (MFI), 3P pickups, vendor returns and invoice scanning operations across India (IN), AMET (South Africa, UAE, KSA, EGY and Turkey), Australia (AU), Japan (JP), Singapore (SG), Brazil (BR) and Mexico (MX).
Purview of a Transportation Specialist
A Transportation Specialist inbound at NOC facilitates the flow of information between different stakeholders (Vendors/Sellers/Inbound Supply chain/category managers/Fulfillment centers) and resolves potential issues that impact vendor/seller experience and business continuity. The role focuses on inbound operations, including appointment scheduling at Fulfillment Centers requested by Vendors/sellers/carriers, ensuring that trucks reach the FC for shipment delivery as scheduled. The specialist addresses issues occurring during the lifecycle of freight placement and unloading at FCs. The role requires research and querying of internal tools, real-time decision making, data analysis, trend recognition, and driving vendor/seller experience without compromising timeliness. A basic understanding of logistics and clear written and verbal communication are essential. The candidate should be able to ideate process improvements and drive them to completion.
Key responsibilities
Transportation Representative at NOC facilitates flow of information between stakeholders (Warehouses/Category teams/Carriers) and resolves issues that impact customer experience and business continuity. It covers inbound operations and manages relationships with Vendors/Carriers/FCs to plan freight for delivery in warehouses as per appointment times, addressing issues from forecasting to actual delivery of the appointment.
* Provide timely resolution to issues by researching and querying internal tools and making real-time decisions.
* Understand requirements, analyze data, identify trends, and drive Customer Experience without compromising on time.
* Demonstrate basic understanding of Logistics and communicate clearly in written and verbal form.
About the team
NOC Inbound Team manages and owns the end-to-end execution of vendor’s/seller’s shipment inbounding process, including appointment scheduling and prioritization, appointment sidelining and rescue, appointment modification, and related tasks across IN and ECCF countries.
Basic Qualifications
* Graduation in any specialization from a recognised university.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
* Ability to communicate clearly with customers.
* Good comprehension skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* As outlined in the basic qualifications, plus additional relevant experience in logistics or supply chain roles.
