Reports To: Production Manager Direct Reports: 4– 6 (Glasshoughton), Position Purpose The Service Office Leader is responsible for the day-to-day management of FLT and PPT drivers across bay operations and goods in/out activities. The role ensures the smooth operational running of the service office and designated areas, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency on shift. Key Responsibilities * Plan and manage shift operations to meet site performance and quality targets. * Promote, enforce, and adhere to all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies. * Motivate, train, and develop team members for optimal performance. * Implement and monitor compliance with company processes, procedures, and reporting standards (e.g., TRT completion, SAP updates). * Oversee stock management, ensuring correct storage and accurate stock recording. * Manage labour allocation, start/finish times, and break scheduling. * Communicate effectively with internal teams, agency providers, hauliers, and customers. * Maintain a clean and organised operational environment. * Ensure MHE pre-shift inspections and correct handling of VOR (Vehicle Off Road) equipment. * Report and investigate all accidents and near-miss incidents with documented root cause analysis. * Maintain compliance with fire safety procedures, including the upkeep of fire registers. * Support manpower planning and agency staffing needs, verifying hours worked against agency invoices. Recommend hiring and agency staffing decisions aligned to operational needs. Qualifications/Skills Essential: * Specialist qualification in warehouse logistics or related technical field Desirable: * SAP * Additional certifications in process improvement (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma). Experience * Proven leadership experience within a fast-paced manufacturing, production, or distribution/logistics environment. * Track record of operational improvements and engagement with continuous improvement methodologies.
