This is a permanent, fulltime post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Long Day-Dayshift & Nightshift Rotation.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services for a Staff Nurse to join our Inpatient Services on a permanent basis.
Applicants should be a first level Registered Mental Health Nurse with practical experience providing nursing care and treatment to individuals with an alcohol and/or drug dependence. Applicants should be able to evidence their continuing professional development with an emphasis on alcohol or drug related care and treatment intervention(s) and demonstrate a strong desire to practice within an inpatient alcohol and drug recovery service.
The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team and have responsibility for the assessment of care needs, evaluating programmes of care, whilst ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care for individuals requiring care and treatment for alcohol and/or substance use.
Awareness of professional and clinical accountability is essential, and applicants should be able to clearly demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to fulfil the main duties and responsibilities as outlined within the job description.
The initial base for this post will be within Kershaw Unit, Gartnavel Royal Hospital. The shift pattern is currently 37 hours per week, long day pattern on dayshift and rotational nightshift.
