Join to apply for the Specialty Doctor in Oral Surgery role at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.
The successful candidate will be part of the Oral and Maxillofacial team providing comprehensive outpatient and day case services in a busy hospital department. We are seeking to appoint a full-time Specialty Doctor to work within a committed team of Consultants in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery and Orthodontics, as well as other medical, nursing and administration staff. There will be a requirement to undertake clinical duties at West Cornwall Hospital and St Austell Hospital. All aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery are covered and you will be required to work both independently and in Consultant-led clinics, and be responsible for diagnosis, prevention and treatment plans.
Responsibilities
* Share with colleagues responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
* Contribute to the teaching and training of junior staff or medical students.
* Ensure active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
* Actively participate in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
* Attend meetings as appropriate.
* Fulfil duties of weekly timetable.
* Support sustainability initiatives and implement new ways of working within the field of expertise.
The post is full-time, covering general out-patients, paediatric surgery, anaesthetic theatre as well as main theatre sessions.
Qualifications
* You will have full GDC registration.
* A minimum of two years’ experience.
