The General Dental Council (GDC) is recruiting for a Senior Communications Manager to join our team on a full-time, fixed-term contract for 18 months. This role is Hybrid (2 days per week spent working from the GDC’s office in central London) and in return you'll receive a competitive salary of £58,700 to £69,059 per annum.\n\nAbout us:\n\nOur primary purpose is to protect the public and maintain public confidence in dental services. We are committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity and inclusion by recruiting and strengthening our teams with team members from different backgrounds, life experiences and viewpoints.\n\nAbout the role of Senior Communications Manager:\n\nTo use strategic communications to build understanding, influence debate and shift perceptions, to positively impact the quality and quantity of oral healthcare delivered across the UK.\n\t\nTo lead the external communications strategy and put audience insight at the centre of developing plans for what, when and how we communicate.\n\t\nTo work closely with engagement, media, policy and operational teams to bring together insight and ideas to develop communication strategies, inform communication objectives, craft messages and lead and continuously improve a suite of products, content and channels.\n\t\nTo work with senior leaders across the GDC and the external sector to understand audiences’ needs and how to meet them through communications content, channels and campaigns. \n\nAbout you:\n\nWe are ideally looking for an individual from a regulatory environment or public-sector background who has significant experience of working as a senior communications professional within a small team.\n\t\nOur new Corporate Strategy begins in January 2026 and the external communication and engagement is also being redefined, as a key enabler to ensure success of the corporate objectives.
