Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant based just outside of Braintree on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the accounts department.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring cashflow
2. Bank postings & reconciliations
3. Customer & supplier account reconciliation
4. Preparation, recording & reviewing of monthly accounts including currency revaluations, prepayments, accruals, journals & closing the month in Sage
5. VAT returns
6. Credit control
7. Processing monthly payroll and submission to HMRC & pension provider
8. Assisting with the year-end accounts if required
9. Opening new accounts & credit checking
10. Sending customer invoices & statements
11. Order processing & collecting payments from pro-forma accounts
12. Organising customer returns & issuing credit notes
13. Processing & allocating customer payments
14. Answering customer queries by phone & email
15. Producing any customs documentation needed
16. Allocating delivery notes & posting purchase invoices
17. Stock ordering, making transport arrangements & monitoring delivery dates
18. Monitoring cost prices for all goods and services
19. Liasing with suppliers and dealing with any queries by phone & email
