Are you a passionate Veterinary Surgeon looking to take the next step to advance your career? A rare opportunity has arisen for a veterinary surgeon to join our wonderfully eclectic team at Mansfield Vets for Pets.
About us
We pride ourselves on our patient and client care and have a loyal client base. Part of the Pets at Home Vet Group, our practice is owned and led by three Joint Venture Partners, one of whom has been here since the practice opened and has 30 years' experience as a veterinary surgeon. We have an excellent colleague retention record, with the majority of our team having worked here for at least six years and several who have been here over ten years.
Our people are our strongest asset and are what make our practice a fantastic place to work. You would be supported by our nursing team of eight RVNs and dedicated VCA as well as our practice manager, practice administrator and reception team. Our seven-vet team has a range of experience and skill sets and are very supportive of each other. Two of our vets started their careers here as kennel assistants and we have had the privilege of watching them develop into the fabulous vets they are today! Two of our vets are Vet GDP advisors, who are ready and willing to support newly registered vets and we provide placements to vet students on EMS. We are also a student nurse training practice with two clinical coaches to accommodate student nurse placements.
Established in 2003, our practice is a recognised part of the local community. We have many long-standing clients who have entrusted us with the life-long care of their fur babies. As one of the original Vets4Pets practices, we have the good fortune to be located in a generously sized building giving us the space to provide all the necessary facilities. We have separate kennel, cattery and isolation wards to complement our large treatment/ preparation room and dedicated theatre. We have digital x-ray and ultrasound machines on-site as well as a full suite of Idexx analysers to enable a variety of in-house biochemical/ haematological tests.
We are located in the village of Forest Town in the district of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. The market town of Mansfield is rich in history and is conveniently positioned among the major towns and cities within Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and South Yorkshire. Mansfield railway station provides regular trains to Nottingham and Worksop, both of which take just over 30 minutes, and the bus network provides transport links to the areas within and around the town. As for getting around in the car, Nottingham is just 14 miles to the south, Sheffield 25 miles to the north. If you're travelling further afield, the M1 motorway is just over 6 miles away ensuring you are well connected to the rest of the Midlands and beyond.
Mansfield and the surrounding area offers plenty of attractions and facilities sure to suit a variety of interests and pursuits such as sports, crafts, exercising and socialising. The historical Sherwood Forest is only a short distance away and there are many beautiful parks and woodlands for walking, cycling and horse riding. Clumber Park, Rufford Abbey, Sherwood Pines and Newstead Abbey are all within easy reach, plus the breath-taking Peak District is less than an hour's drive away. With excellent schools and plenty of family amenities it should also appeal to those with children.
