We are working closely alongside a local authority in Elmbridge t o assist with the appointment of a Customer Operations Adviser on a 3 - months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £16.06- £21.00 per hour Summary: As a Customer Operations Adviser, you are the primary point of contact for the residents of Elmbridge. You play a pivotal role in maintaining the council's reputation by delivering high-quality, empathetic, and efficient service across all communication channels. The focus of this role is achieving "first-point-of-contact" resolution, handling both straightforward administrative tasks and complex financial processes, and providing dedicated support to vulnerable members of the community. Responsibilities Provide high-quality service in line with the Council's standards, taking full ownership of enquiries to resolve them at the first point of contact. Communicate with residents, partners, and internal departments in a constructive, professional, and positive manner. Assist in achieving collection rate targets to maximise council income through strict adherence to relevant regulations. Provide active feedback to management to assist in the continuous improvement of systems and service delivery. Qualifications: Education to GCSE Level (including English and Maths), O Level, or equivalent. Essentials: Proven experience in a telephone-based customer service role within a fast-paced environment. Sound financial knowledge and experience, ideally within a local government or regulated context. A clear understanding of the Data Protection Act and the importance of maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive personal data.
