Job Details
We are seeking a Quality, Safety, Health and Environment (QSHE) Co-ordinator to join our Operations Team at Newbury Racecourse, an award-winning venue hosting over 30 racedays annually along with concerts, weddings, and exhibitions. The site also features a 36-bedroom hotel, The Lodge, and a children’s nursery, Rocking Horse Nursery.
This is a new role focused on developing and implementing our Health & Safety culture and QSHE management systems. It offers a great opportunity for an ambitious QSHE professional to enhance our safety and sustainability standards.
Responsibilities
1. Coordinate QSHE activities for raceday and non-raceday events, continuously improving standards.
2. Administer and develop QSHE management systems, policies, and procedures.
3. Maintain legal and compliance registers, ensuring adherence to statutory health, safety, environmental, accessibility, and licensing requirements.
4. Implement the QSHE audit programme.
5. Serve as the point of contact for risk assessments, both internal and external.
6. Respond to health, safety, and environmental incidents, including investigations and trend analysis.
7. Develop and enhance sustainability initiatives across the business.
8. Conduct meetings and inspections with subcontractors.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will have:
* Experience in a similar QSHE role.
* Understanding of Health and Safety management and QSHE standards, supported by qualifications such as IOSH.
* Strong administrative skills and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
* Excellent organisational, customer service, and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
* Teamwork skills, self-motivation, sound judgement, and the ability to work independently.
