Title: Interim Resource Base Lead/ Teacher Location: Northamptonshire area Type: Interim contract Until end of term Salary: Competitive day rate Inside IR35 The Role: A primary school is seeking a Resource Base Lead (SEND Unit Class Teacher) to deliver high-quality teaching within a specialist provision on site. This is a predominantly teaching role with a small element of operational leadership, supporting pupils with a range of complex additional needs. You will work with a small cohort of pupils across the early years and KS1 phase, delivering a play-based, communication-focused curriculum aligned with early years principles and continuous provision. Strong focus on: Play-based learning and continuous provision (EYFS ethos) Language development and high-quality interactions Use of communication boards and visual strategies Supported by a team of 4 inclusion support staff Includes pupils transitioning from both mainstream and other specialist settings Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging, differentiated teaching tailored to high-need SEND pupils Facilitate play-based learning and communication development Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusive practice Work closely with SENCo and wider inclusion team Provide informal leadership within the provision while remaining primarily classroom-based Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience teaching in primary settings (EYFS/KS1 preferred) Strong experience working with high-need SEND pupils (ASD, sensory needs) Understanding of play-based and communication-led learning approaches Desirable: Experience within a resource base or specialist provision Knowledge of EYFS continuous provision models.
