Prospero Teaching is currently working with a SEMH School in Batley that is looking for an experienced SEMH Teacher / Tutor / Instructor.
This school caters to secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. It offers a variety of enriching educational opportunities, including academic, functional, and vocational skills.
As an SEMH teacher, you will connect directly with young people, guiding them to maximize their educational experience. The role requires a holistic and nurturing approach from someone who is empathetic and understanding of the students' needs.
This opportunity is suitable for teachers passionate about engaging hard-to-reach pupils and possessing a strong classroom presence. You will engage children and young people in innovative, therapeutic, and meaningful activities, supporting them to reach their full potential.
This is a full-time role (Monday to Friday) starting w/c 9th September 2024.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Manage challenging behaviour positively, in line with the school's ethos and procedures.
2. Plan lessons to meet the needs of children.
3. Tailor lessons to individual student needs.
4. Create a positive, nurturing environment for children with diverse needs.
5. Motivate, engage, and inspire children.
6. Prioritize safeguarding of young people.
7. Follow the school's policies and procedures.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Experience working with children with SEMH needs is desirable.
* Resilient attitude and a range of behaviour management techniques.
Eligibility Criteria
* Right to Work in the UK.
* Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application.
* Two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
