Job Description
3. Participate in design reviews throughout each phase of the new product introduction process making improvement suggestions
4. Evaluate new product designs using 3D CAD model and mock-ups and log issues.
5. Coordinate design or assembly/manufacture reviews and give feedback
6. Conduct make vs buy analysis on new product designs and look for optimisation opportunities
7. Calculate production capacity requirements based on customer's demand and identify production tooling and space requirements
8. Produce APQP & PPAP documentation
9. Prepare and lead PFMEA reviews
10. Support the programme team in the delivery of milestones for key events such as PDR, CDR, Test Builds and PPAP
11. Check accuracy of BOM against build requirements and communicate any discrepancies to the design team.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Manufacturing Engineer should have:
12. A relevant qualification in engineering or a related discipline. (B.ENG in Mech or Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering or an HND gained through apprenticeship
13. Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
14. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
15. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and lean principles.
16. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
17. Proficiency in using CAD software and other relevant tools.
