Role Overview
Simulation fellow in Frimley Emergency Department. Role is 75% clinical and 25% non‑clinical. Start August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend the Trust simulation faculty training
* Organise and run simulation teaching for the emergency department staff and medical students
* Run simulation both in the simulation suite and in situ
* Write and update simulation scenarios for the Trust’s simulation bank
* Learn the technical skills involved in running simulation
* Deliver ‘Sim Clinic’ minimum every 4–6 weeks – a simulation session available for any clinicians to sign up to. Use this training to support those returning to work after a period of absence, new NHS staff and those preparing for exams
* Run ‘Lightning Sim’ – short in‑situ simulation training
* Work with the Trust simulation fellows to support each other’s training days and share ideas and learning
* Promote multidisciplinary learning
* Work with your supervisor to ensure the work benefits the department and supports your learning goals
* Supervise medical students during placement in the ED
* Collaborate with other ED fellows to expand experience and support each other’s projects
Requirements
Applicants must have a minimum of 24 months experience working as a doctor in the NHS and be applying for ST1‑2 or ST3‑5 posts.
Working Patterns
The emergency medicine rota includes evening, night, weekend and bank holiday working. LTFT enquiries are welcome. Flexibility with working patterns may be arranged.
Study Leave & Budget
Study leave: 18 days (10 days general study leave, 5 days private study leave, 3 days for exams or interviews). Study budget: £650 per year.
