Offer description

CDS is on a mission! We are a small housing association with nearly 1,000 properties across London and the South East and also provide housing management and backend services for many independent housing co-ops. What sets us apart from other social housing providers is that our roots are in co-operative housing and our mission is to make community- and resident-led housing mainstream. We are looking for a Client Relationship Officer to manage and oversee all of the day-to-day aspects of our service agreement between CDS and a number of our clients, who are independent housing co-operatives and other types of community-led housing provider. You’ll be their first and main point of contact, making sure that all of our services are safe, easy to work with, accountable and sustainable. You will relish your role in helping existing and potential clients understand their obligations as a landlord, ensuring they are safe, well-governed and well-managed at all times. As a natural enabler, you will make sure our clients fully understand all relevant laws and regulations, so that they can make well-informed decisions about risk. You will pre-empt their needs, respond quickly but thoroughly to their deliberations, and build a supportive and obliging relationship between them and CDS, which offers both appropriate levels of support and challenge – impressing our clients, whilst enhancing our reputation and growing our business. Experience of leasehold management would be an advantage too but is not essential. We’re looking for someone who has a genuine passion for customer service and who has a strong knowledge, interest and confidence when it comes to advising on landlord services, governance and Health & Safety issues. With excellent communication skills and a good eye for detail, you will have a track record of reliability, organisation and consistent record-keeping and be able to meaningfully analyse performance data and explain it in simple terms to others. Diplomatic, socially aware and skilled at building relationships, you will like staying ahead of the curve and have the ability to plan what will come up next, heading off problems before they arise. You’ll be pro-active and persistent and actively seek responsibility and accountability. With confidence and aptitude working with IT systems, you’ll have charisma and gravitas to develop and provide training on governance, compliance and housing management and be willing to learn new skills, try new ways of doing things and to step in when a colleague needs help. Apart from the opportunity to make your mark at CDS and positively impact the lives of many people, we offer a competitive salary, bonus scheme, hybrid working and generous benefits. We take our employee engagement seriously and will invest in your development and training. In return for your skill and experience, we offer the opportunity to primarily work from home, coming into the office about twice a month. We also are open to the possibility of a candidate who wants to work 28 or 35 hours per week. For more information, please check out our recruitment pack. We are actively working toward becoming an anti-racist and inclusive organisation, open to challenge and learning in all our work. We are committed to looking for all kinds of talent to build a diverse workforce that represents the people we serve and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. Closing date: 29th May 2025
