The Role
We are seeking a patient, dedicated, and enthusiastic 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child with additional needs in year 3. The role involves providing personalised support to ensure the child can access learning, develop confidence, and thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
This is a rewarding position for someone who is passionate about supporting children with SEND and making a positive difference every day.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support for a child with SEND, following the child’s personalised support plan
*
Assist with learning activities, emotional regulation, and social interactions
*
Implement strategies recommended by the SENCO and external professionals
*
Adapt resources and tasks to meet the child’s individual needs
*
Support with personal care where required
*
Foster a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment
*
Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCO, and wider staff team
*
Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with children with SEND (ASD, communication needs)
*
Be patient, nurturing, and empathetic
*
Communicate effectively with staff, pupils, and parents
*
Demonstrate understanding of inclusive practice and safeguarding
*
Be proactive, reliable, and able to build strong trusting relationships
*
Show flexibility and a positive, solution-focused attitude
*
Hold a relevant TA/SEND qualification (desirable but not essential)
