Reporting to the Head of Design Engineering, you'll collaborate with our Central Engineering team, building relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, and external suppliers. You will lead plant and process design projects across our national site network, working with Innovation, NPD, Central, and Ops Engineering teams, as well as suppliers, and be involved in capital investment projects.
Ideal candidates will have experience in mechanical design principles, be familiar with building regulations, and have process plant design experience. Your responsibilities include designing factory layouts for new and existing sites, including machine replacements (not designing machines themselves).
We prioritize Health & Safety and Quality, and you'll champion our Health and Safety strategy, PUWER, legislation, and standards in all projects. You will also identify and promote improvements in Food Safety and energy efficiency within your responsibilities.
Key Duties:
* Produce layout and detailed engineering drawings within deadlines.
* Communicate with sites and suppliers for information collection and transfer. Conduct site measurements as needed.
* Source quotations and manage supply processes for your responsibilities.
* Maintain and manage the CAD system and related IT equipment. Use CAD to its full potential and ensure proper archiving.
* Support the Building department with drawings.
Requirements include extensive plant and process design experience in an FMCG environment, proficiency in 2D and 3D design software, stakeholder management skills, and relevant engineering qualifications (HND, HNC, BEng or equivalent).
